In reference to ViCAP, this is the national repository for violent crimes in the U.S., and it only deals with homicides, sexual assaults, missing persons, and unidentified human remains. The system works by enabling the agencies that participate to electronically enter data into ViCAP Web that has been carefully cultivated to ensure that it is in-depth. Utilizing the specifics associated with any crime that has been committed including the type of weapons, vehicle descriptions, Modus Operandi, etc. allows investigators to search for any similar crimes that may indicate a pattern or an MO from ...
