In saying this, many of the statutes implemented to identify possible terrorist acts apply to the common criminal. Contrary to those statutes are privacy acts created and enforced to protect the common citizen from government intrusion. One such act is that of the Electronic Communications Act. Below we'll discuss some of the major components of the Electronic Communications Privacy Act and provide some examples of court cases in which the act was used.
