In 1984, the Supreme Court ruled that in order to establish ineffectiveness of counsel, a defendant must prove that two constitutional standards were violated. Discuss what these two standards are and how they establish ineffectiveness of counsel.

No, public defenders are not equal to private attorneys, this is false. The public defenders in this country are directly responsible for the fact that over 90% of court cases end in plea bargains as most public defenders are incapable of putting together a quality defense because most have caseloads in the dozens or hundreds wherein they must represent multitudes of defendants while being given the resources necessary to provide competent defenses for their clients. Any assertion that public defenders are equal to private defense counsel is naive at best and a total lie at worst as research has proven over and over that having a public defender is akin to having no defense at all under the current ...
