I've given you two paragraphs (368 words) of examples and ways to play with preschool-aged children. I'm an elementary school teacher now, but I taught preschool and daycare for six years, and my advice would be to start with a theme that children are enthusiastic about, and then connect their learning to that. If you have a group of little boys who loves racecars, but needs to learn how to count, then have their little cars race down a board, and have the kids count who came in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. Or perhaps you have the children help you measure ingredients, and you count 1, 2, 3 teaspoons of sugar. Highly structured activities are not necessary; often the kids learn the most and have the best time when they are allowed some choice in what they do.
