Today I will briefly cover the concept of seasons here on earth, in addition, to selected other planets.

Perhaps the most common misconception about why we experience seasons here on earth is that the earth is notion that the earth is close to the sun in the summer, which leads to hotter temperatures, while the opposite would be true in the winter. This is not, however, true as the earth's orbit is rather lop sided. As a result, part of the world will be having summer when it is closest to the sun, while part of the world actually experiences summer when it is farthest away from the sun. As such, it should be understood that there is an entirely different reason why the earth experiences different seasons.
