I was just reading about Michael Porters approach to industry analysis. From what I gather Porter contends that organizations are concerned primarily with the intensity of competition within an particular industry and that there are competitive forces which determine the intensity level;.

I am having trouble relating this to the determinants of the level of competitive intensity in an industry, possibly because I do not fully understand competitive intensity.
