The merger involves merging of two or more firms through the purchase of a firm by another (Sherman, & Hart, 2006). In this regard, a very prominent example of organizations, which recently experienced merger are WhatsApp and Facebook. Both of these companies are US-based and offer applications for smartphones, which helps the consumers to communicate through sending text messages, photos, videos and voice messages (European Commission, 2015).
