History
The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) is a consortium of the countries that supply oil to the world. It is an intergovernmental agency of twelve countries, most located in the Middle East and Africa region, though two, Venezuela and Ecuador, are located in South America. The other countries are Algeria, Angola, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and The United Arab Emirates. Indonesia was a member until 2008, but dropped out when it became a net importer of oil. T
