There are several factors to consider in this situation. First of all, this is never going to happen, because of the effects it will create. If the law is amended to take national origin out as being a protection, employers would be able to use national origin as an excuse as to why they refuse to hire an otherwise qualified candidate. The employer merely would have to state that they feel the candidate poses a threat to security, safety, terrorism, etc., and therefore should not be hired, because they do not want that individual working for the company because he or she is of X origin.
