First the issue of compact fluorescent light bulbs means that these bulbs that have an integral ballast and uses a fraction of the electricity by regular incandescent light bulbs. If compact fluorescent light bulbs replace the normal bulbs the use of energy will be reduced by one third. It is expected that the use of these bulbs will save up to 30 dollars by way electricity costs. But what is more important is that it saves electricity. The production of electricity especially electricity generated from fossil fuels adds to the greenhouse effect.
