The most influential and beneficial leadership theories for leading change programs in an organization will be transformational and Participative leadership theories. The primary rationale for choosing these leadership theories for the change plans is due to the fact that both these leadership theories have traditionally prove to be very effective in overcoming critical issues such as employee resistance during the change plans.
