In any organization, man- power planning is very important as any loop - holes would be plausible and potentially disruptive to attainment of the organizational goal. It may be defined as a strategy for the acquisition, utilization, improvement and preservation of the human resources of an enterprise. It is the activity of the management which is aimed at coordinating the requirements for and the availability of different types of employees. This task ensures that the firm has enough of the right kind of people at the right time and also adjusting the requirements to the available supply. The combined efforts of different elements like spread of education and growth of consciousness among the workers, expansion of democratic voting rights and establishment of trade unions, etc. Lead to the emergence of new approach and outlook towards workers.
