Design has a major impact on finances, and this holds very true for Coca Cola. Design strategies hold true for both the design of the factories where operations are located, and the design of the products that Coca Cola is manufacturing. With respect to the factory design, line processes are strategically designed to allow for the greatest number of products to travel through a systematic production process in the most cost-effective manner. The design of the factory allows for the greatest number of bottles to flow through, while keeping breakage and spillage at a minimum, so as to remain cost effective. The design is then optimized to allow for a continual processing of operations, with only the minimum amount of time needed between run breaks. This directly affects finance, because if the factory is not set up in a systematic way, the company begins to incur extraneous expenses from breakage, spillage, errors, and damaged products. Also, the more product the company can successfully move through, the more money the company makes, increasing the available cash flow (finances) available to the company.
