    Why do corporations have a social responsibility?

    Companies have a CSR responsibility because they are basically the biggest consumer of resources within the individual communities. Particularly where companies have manufacturing operations located, those companies take resources by means of water consumption, land (and probably trees that had to be cut down), and other elements that take away from the environment. Corporations also have a social responsibility because they essentially exist for several reasons, including their investors.
