You can either use PV tables or a financial calculator for these. I used the calculator
$1 million signing bonus and then $2.4 million per year paid quarterly.

I am assuming that the signing bonus is received immediately, which means that it is already in the present.
These are quarterly payments, so the $2.4 m must be divided by 4 (2,400,000/4= 600,000);
the time must be multiplied by 4 (5 x 4 = 20 quarterly payments); and
the interest rate must be divided by 4 ...
