Here is a very simple and real-life example from sports that identifies various stakeholders of an event. If a player on a sports team commits a crime and gets suspended by the team, who is affected? Who are the stakeholders?
- The suspended player would himself be a stakeholder to this situation as it most directly affects himself. He could lose money in fines or if pay is withheld. He could also suffer by doing time in jail or even losing his job.
- His actions affect his teammates because they no longer have a player on the floor who played a role on the team. They are all stakeholders in the situation.
