The problem of overtime and truck waiting occurred at NCC only recently because it was only recently that the quantity of water-harvested fruit received at NCC increased. Consider this in 1968 the receiving plant No. ! received only 25,000 bbls of water-harvested fruit, in 1968, 125,000 bbls were received in 1969 and 350,000 bbls were received in 1970. There was only a fixed number of bins that could be received by the holding bins for wet berries. Holding bins no 25-27 were for wet berries only. Holding binds 17-24 were usable for dry and wet berries. So, if the trucks that came to deliver the berries faced the problem of full bin, they would have to wait till the bins were emptied. This delay sometimes went up to three hours.
