While they had a downturn like most of the global market, they managed to avoid heavy losses while maintaining a presence in all areas they are found. While expansion is necessary to continue to add diversity in product and methods, acquisition of companies should be carefully considered and not made quickly in this turbulent economic climate. The current news of acquisition of Athenix Corp is costly, but it adds a multi layer of technology for Bayer in terms of agricultural advancements and contributions to sustainable communities through improvement in food production while acknowledging new methods of herbicide and its uses.
