Differences in Interpretation

The video by Crucial Learning (Crucial Learning 2009) entitled "Awkward Performance Review" features a guy named Matt talking about his upcoming performance review with a male colleague. It also features his superior at work, a female manager about to give him his performance review (Bamboo HR 2022), talking with another female colleague about Matt and how he has fared in the formal assessment she has undertaken of his work. In the video we see how Matt's self-evaluation is very different from that of his assessor; in his self-evaluation, he thinks he did well, interpreting the previous evaluation (which were rather negative), in a positive manner, asserting that he has made changes. Matt is sure he will be promoted, especially since he needs the extra money as his wife is pregnant and she also lost her job.
