Intellectual property (IP) is merely one form of private property. Think about it logically. Do you think that private property should be protected by law? Do you think that your car, your house, your DVD player, your MP3 player, your clothes, your jewelry, etc. should be protected by law? Obviously, they should, right? Therefore, IP should as well.

The main reasons why certain countries pay little to no attention to IP rights are the same as the reasons why they pay little attention to other forms of private property. They do not have a sound system of law and equity. They're run by thugs who are not chained down by their constitutions. Thuggery feeds of greed.
