A major construction company is very dependent upon reliable labour to ensure it meets its project deadlines, and avoid incurring late delivery penalties. The construction federation undertook an analysis of the absenteeism levels amongst construction workers over the past four years. The number of man days lost (based on number of workers absent) aggregated quarterly, is summarized in the table attached.

1. Draw a time series graph of absenteeism levels over the past 4 years.
2. Obtain seasonally adjusted indices for all quarters. Interpret the indices.
3. Explain without calculations, how seasonally-adjusted trend estimates can be made for all the quarters of 2010.
