Most of our beliefs are influenced by religion in one way or another, as all values and principles for living come from philosophy, which is most often (if not always) a reflection of a morality (ethical framework) implied in religion.

What is your philosophy of life? What do you believe? Do you believe in God? Are you an atheist? Even atheists have a philosophy or belief system that guides her or his decisions and actions. Perhaps you do not go to church, but your parents raised you based on moral or religious principles e.g., be nice to your friends, work hard and you will get ahead (is referred to Protestant work ethics, where work is considered spiritual), respect your mother and father through listening and obeying them as a child and being kind and helpful as we get older (one of the 10 commandments in Christianity and reflective of most religions).
