SOLUTION This solution is FREE courtesy of BrainMass!
Acceleration = Force/mass
(a) a = F/m = 1/1 = 1 m/ s^2
(b) Since weight = 1 N, mass = weight/g = (1/9.8) kg
a = 1/ (1/9.8) = 9.8 m/ s^2.
