    The speed of electro magnetic waves is that of the speed of light

    c = 3*108 m/s

    The wavelength , speed c and frequency f of a traveling wave are related as

    c = f.

    Hence the wavelength of the wave is given by

     = c / f = 3*108/1.09*1010 = 0.0275 m

    The ratio of the amplitudes of the electric and the magnetic components of the wave is the speed c of the wave. Hence

    E/B = c
    Or E = c*B = 3*108*1.2*10-8 = 3.6 N/C

    Intensity of a wave is the rate of energy flow per unit area normal to the wave direction. For electromagnetic waves it is described by Poynting vector S and is given by

    as the Electric and magnetic fields are perpendicular to each other in the wave, we can write
    Watt m-2.
