As the criminal justice field continues to evolve, the method that researchers utilize in order to gather historical data on criminals and victims are essential to the furthering of our field. Surveys play a major factor as it relates to the gathering of this data. Surveys such as victim surveys provide researchers with information from victims as it relates to their assailants that went unreported. Below we'll discuss the major differences between the various methods which are used to collect criminal justice data as well as the one that I feel is best.
