One of the problems that MRP, and even ERP, occasionally encounter is the following decision:

Should we be on the innovative "leading edge" and take a chance on a newly developed technology?

Or should we rely on a proven technology that already exists and take the risk that consumers might see us as outdated?

Obviously, marketing and R&D would prefer the "latest and greatest", but manufacturing obviously wants a reliable and proven source.
