Technology impacts each and every function of management in today's world. It has become an integral part of organization's day to day functions. Let us take the example of planning function. Today's planning function is much more efficient with use of advanced software tools that helps in better analysis and forecasting. Such software tools allows organization to conduct complex analysis and calculations with much greater accuracy and easy, and that too in a quick time. This allows strategic planners to make reliable plans for the future. The strategic planners at GM plan their production goals, sales forecasts, etc. on the basis of reports generated by these software tools and utilize these tools to make accurate forecasts about the future.
