Venn Diagram and Probability problems
A survey of 500 students taking one of more modules in algebra, physics and statistics during one semester revealed the following numbers of students in the indicated modules (see attachment).
Draw a venn diagram and show how many students were taking:
i) All three modules
ii) Algebra or statistics but not physics
iii) Algebra but not physics or statistics
2. In a service company, 50% of the workforce is female and 30% are part time employees. 70% of the part time employees are female.
i) If you select an employee at random, what is the probability that it is a male?
ii) If you select a male employee at random, what is the probability that he is part time?
iii) If you select a full time employee at random, what is the probability that it is a male?
