    1a. An ammeter should be connected in series in an electric circuit.
    b. An ammeter should have low resistance when being connected in series, because it is to prevent from reducing the current. A more accurate measurement can be obtained.

    2a. A voltmeter should be connected in parallel in an electric circuit.
    b. A voltmeter should have high resistance when being connected in parallel, because it is to prevent from reducing the voltage. A more accurate measurement can be obtained.
