There is an important role played in today's economy by Saudi Arabia. The main source of income of the country is oil and Gas and Saudi Arabia has emerged as the largest oil producing country in the world. Combined with the fact that Saudi Arabia has the largest known reserves of oil in the world, Saudi Arabia has a strong role to play in the upsurge of oil prices. The KSA has played a pivotal role in the OPEC and is responsible for the increase in oil prices.
Apart from oil there are other effects that Saudi Arabia has on today's economy. These effects emanate from the fact that Saudi Arabia is a net importer of foodstuff; The KSA also influences the economy through pilgrim tourism to Mecca and Medina. The value of income derived from pilgrims alone exceeds $2 ...
