Differences in the Position of Political Parties on the Issue of Tax Credits for Low-Income Housing
The issue of tax credits for low-income housing is an act in United States of America for the consumers to affordable housing investment. This is a program in USA that provides incentives to the low income Americans, so that they can afford a house (Rollins, Jacobs, & Brooks, 2007). There are many political parties has raised their potential in the USA such as Democratic Party, Republican Party, Green Party, etc. who have different point of view on the issue of tax credits for low-income housing. All these parties have reacted in a distinct way. This paper is explaining different views and forces of the different parties on this issue.
Forces that Drive the Party's Position
Position of the Republican and Democratic Party are quite different with each other. Democratic Party is in favor of this program because it always works in favor of the society. The main concern of the party is to provide benefits to and reduce the high tax paid by the consumers. The major force that drives the position is the benefit of society and moderate working practices, so that the party can serve poor and low income people also (Democratic Party Platform, 2008).
On the other hand, Republican Party has a quite different position. Although this party also works in favor of society, and it has implemented many programs to reduce tax, but this is also concerned about the increase in the GDP rate of the country. According to this party, it is a poor solution because it has reduced the income of government (Stearns, 1988). Another minor party of USA, Green Party is also in favor of this program because of well being of society and low income consumer. The driving force of this party is the efforts to save energy and maintain greenery (Mosca, 2010).
Education given by Political Parties
The Democratic Party has built democratic institutions to educate the people and government about its concern and mission of developing a democratic world. In order to educate the party members about its mission and concern, the party organizes meeting and seminars, in which they discuss the plans for the society (Democratic Party Platform, 2008).
