Full-time homemakers:
Women who are full-time homemakers may find it difficult to find fulfillment as a result of pressure by other women to define success as economic accomplishments outside the home. At parties or get-togethers while other women talk about the latest merger they accomplished or promotion they received, full-time homemakers may feel less than adequate sharing how they are working on potty training with their child or how they enjoyed cleaning their house. Another source of discontent would be a husband who does not appreciate or voice his approval of her hard work and efforts. A final source of disappointment would be the repetitive nature of house work without a visible sense of accomplishment.
Having a supportive husband who appreciates one's work, a confidence that home making is a choice one has made rather than an obligation and valuing the importance of raising one's own children while they are young are all ways of helping home makers feel more accomplished.
