The Torah is, simply put, the first five books of the Hebrew Scriptures. This means Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy specifically. No other books of the Hebrew Scriptures are considered part of the Torah, and throughout history various groups have even been defined by their adherence to the Torah alone, or in how they interpret the Torah as opposed to any other part of those Scriptures. Judaic law and theology is specifically different based on both its monotheistic and egalitarian emphases (for example, "an eye for an eye"), as opposed to the polytheistic and capricious nature of their surrounding fellow humans.
