A) Based on how you will evaluate your EBP project, which independent and dependent variables do you need to collect? What basic statistical analysis might be run to determine statistical significance?

B) Not all EBP projects result in statistically significant results. Explain what clinical significance is, the difference between clinical and statistical significance, and how you might use clinical significance to support positive outcomes in your project.

C) Discuss one personal strength and one weakness you have regarding professional presentations. Name one method for improvement for each of these, and discuss why it is important for you to work on these skills.

D) Sustaining change can be difficult, as there are many variables that can affect the process and implementation. One critical component of EBP is to ensure that practice change is hardwired so that it will thus continue to impact outcomes over time. Name two potential barriers that may impact your EBP change proposal from continuing to obtain the same desired results six months to a year from now, and your strategies for overcoming these barriers.

The evaluation of the EBP project should hinge upon the following variables but please recognize that the variables that are chosen should be contingent upon the individual needs associated with the healthcare research that is being conducted by the researcher. Some of the potential variables will be predicated upon the participants within the study, and these are in regard to their age, gender, condition at the time of the research study, etc. Other variables that will need to be ascertained are in accordance to the geographical location where the research study occurred, the variables associated with the type of variables that are utilized for the study wherein some variables will result in different connotations for the research study in which the use of nominal, ordinal, interval, or ratio variables are predicated upon different outcomes. I have provided a reference for you at the top of the paper to elucidate upon these different variables that can be used for the research study.

When determining the appropriate variables to utilize for evidence based research practices, the researcher must take into account the aim of the study or what the study was seeking to define or hypothesize, the participants within the study, etc. In the end, the study must ensure that it has reached the necessary variables that will allow it to propose the most optimal values and preferences for effective implementation from research to practice within the healthcare organization.

In regard to statistical significance, this is predicated upon the notion that testing a hypothesis is expressed by the probability that the hypothesis will result in a statistical difference that doesn't occur by chance, which means that it will have a higher probability of actually initiating change that is necessary before determining the clinical significance of implementing the evidence-based practices. The conventional threshold that is used is 5% wherein if the probability is greater than 5%, there is a statistically significant chance that the ...
