The choice of data analysis tools may make the difference between finding equivocal results or significant results. A model system for evaluating pulmonary function changes with chest wall paralysis was evaluated in two different studies, one assuming a normal distribution of results, the other using linear regression of multiple dependent variables on two independent variables. The results of the studies are discussed.

When the term "evaluation tool" is used, I'm assuming it's in reference to data analysis as opposed to checks for validity in responses, e.g., questionnaires. If I'm wrong, please contact Brainmass regarding changing the charge associated with my response.
The appropriate evaluation of data is a question that every researcher, when planning a project, must address as I suspect you're aware.
