Hatch & Cunliffe (2006), states that organization theory was based on sociological and managerial theories and it is only in the 1960s recognized as a field of study. The origin of organization theory was developed in the early eighteen and late nineteen centuries. According to Hatch (2006), Weber, the bureaucracies, staffed by bureaucrats, represented the ideal organizational form. He based his model bureaucracy on legal and absolute authority, logic, and order. In Weber's idealized organizational structure, responsibilities for workers are clearly defined and behavior is tightly controlled by rules, policies, and procedures.
