What are the e-mail use, Internet use, and privacy policies at your job?
At my job we are not allowed to use the Internet or email at all! I am involved with customer service so to be on the computer, unless it is helping a customer, is against the rules. I have another job in which there is no supervision at all, and we are on an intranet. We are expected to work on our job duties while at work, and not partake in personal business or email. I believe the organization realizes that there is personal email, texting, and web searches going on but chooses not to monitor it unless the employee is not performing their job adequately. There is a general understanding that everything we do at work is not private, and subject to our supervisor's or others in the organization scrutiny.
