When a team is formed for a purpose and I want to influence team members to contribute more towards the team goal, there are two actions that I take. First, I increase the friendliness among the team members. This I do by initiating a game that attracts everyone. Second, I present the task as very challenging or appealing. To influence the team members when I do not have any personal power over others, I remain very aware of my behavior, body language, and the effect I have on others.
