It is key to gain employee cooperation before beginning a job analysis program in order to ensure that the employee works to help the process rather than fight it. Oftentimes, without proper explanation, employees feel threatened by the appearance of new people or people from different departments looking into their work. The employee may be put on guard or become hesitant to share information for fear they are being investigated in some manner or perhaps eliminated. By carefully explaining the process of job analysis, as well as the purpose, employees will have a better understanding of what is happening and be more eager to help.
