In my opinion, reengineering is definately not a management fad if applied in right direction at the right time in an organization. In today's dynamic business environment, where the technology, business processess and fundamentals are radically changing and new practices are redefined on a continuous basis, reengineering has become an essense for the survival of any business. Reengineering protects a business from becoming obsolete in today's fast changing world, where one could be wipe out of business in no time.
