Problem 1: A population of 1000 employee consists of the following categories:

Category A: 150 male above 55 year old
Category B: 100 female above 55 year old
Category C: 350 male below 55 year old
Category D: 400 female below 55 year old

The company was interested to determine employee Performance with respect to age and experience and gender. It decided to take a sample of 40 employee representing all categories.

(1) What kind of sampling would you recommend: random or stratified?
(2) Using stratified sample, how many would you draw of each category to compose the whole sample in proportional weight allocation?
(3) Go to Excel Data Analysis and perform the following:
(a) Random sample of 40
(b) Stratified sample of 40
