American Declaration of Independence

Considered as the Founding Document of the American Nation as well as the primary document expressing the reasons behind the separation from the British Crown, it was a Unanimously Agreed set of ideas that the Second Continental Congress & by virtue all US Colonies put in pen & paper in July 4, 1776 declaring America a 'Free & Independent State'. Every American alludes to the ideas in the Declaration when referring to their American Identity especially the Lockean notion of 'All Men Created Equal'. President Lincoln's Gettysburg Address refers to this very heart of the birth of the nation whereby the Signatories, the Founding Fathers signed the Final Draft of the Declaration created by John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Robert Livingston, George Sherman & Henry Lee, all representatives and leaders of their own counties & colonial territories knew that by doing so, they would all be judged and hanged for treason.

A reading of, as well as an understanding of the ideas espoused by the declaration: simple, eloquent and truthful as to the rights & responsibilities of a Free American Nation, though rooted in ideas of Republicanism echoes that which has always been what being an American is all about ever since the birth of the nation --- the pursuit of Life, Liberty, Property & Happiness under the guidance of Justice & Equality. Tyranny is an opposing force in such pursuits & throughout American History, the nation despite its' youth because of the strength of its' Founding Ideals has become that forerunner in an increasingly global effort towards Equality & Justice, but most of all, in keeping the Peace. While America might be judged by various cultures & nations in the global stage in recent years in a negative light, still the America of today has become that one venue in the world where Free Citizens can live full knowing that they are protected & looked after due the very nature of the Nation that it was and is. A nation where people would if needed freely give up their rights & liberties to protect their dignity in pursuit of freedom & justice.

The Federalist Papers

A collection of 85 Articles that advocate the ratification of the American Constitution they were published between 1787 & 1788 & authored by Alexander Hamilton, James Madison & John Jay all under the pseudonym Publius, a reference to the Ancient Roman Consul Publius Valerius Publicola. These series of Articles became the primary arena by which the American Constitution was interpreted for the Public whereby the sections & important points expressed in them where discussed & nit-picked prior to mass acceptance, every philosophical, political & social notion looked at from various perspectives that had the public increasingly made aware as well as participate actively in Nation Building. Federal Judges of today often turn to the Federalist Papers when they needed to understand the intentions of the Founding Fathers & the ideals behind the Declaration of Independence as well as the Constitution.

The Federalist papers have become an influence to American Politics as well as to the manner by which America as a nation relates to other nations in creating international relations. The Supreme Court has quoted the Federalist Essays countless of times when judging on the nature of American Identity, Rights as well as what it means to be American when they laid down decisions. While the authorship in some of the essays can be argued because of ...
