Dear Student,
Hi and thank you for using Brainmass. The solution below should get you started. In this particular task, you are asking for help in putting together a paper on robotic surgery. Since your professor has indicated what he/she expects to see, it is important to ensure that all of that is addressed in your essay. I suggest using this simple outline:

1. About Robotics Surgery - 150 words
2. Complications & Risks - 150 words
(factors, outcomes, anatomy, etc.)
1. Machine/Robotics dependency - 150 words
2. Robotics surgery regulation - 150 words
3. Impact (social & psychological) - 150 words

This outline should yield about 750 words but should you need a far longer discussion, you can add more details to the core ideas and discuss ideas further. You can use the listed resources to further explore the topic. Just let me know via the feedback section if you need further clarification. All the best with your studies.

Robotics Surgery: A Discussion

About

We now live in an era most refer to as the 'digital age', we are at that point in human history where advancement in science has allowed for the establishment of telecommunication systems, hardware and software that make global communication not just instant, but affordable even to populations removed from city centers in the third world. Quantum physics has also contributed to the innovation and advancement in sectors like energy, transportation, manufacturing, engineering, military tech and of course medicine. Advancements in medicine go beyond discoveries in virology, or the establishment of measures and techs that improve health from specialised medicines to specialized practices that mitigate communicable diseases - the advancement in nanotechnology and robotics has led to the creation of robotics for medicine in a field known as robotics surgery.

To understand robotics surgery, we must first come to terms with robotics. NYU's pioneering Langone Medical Center is among the country's top research and practice medical facilities that innovate in the field of robotics for surgical and medical purpose. The Center defines Robotics as such (NYU-LMC, 2014), "Robotic surgery is a type of minimally invasive surgery. 'Minimally invasive' means that instead of operating on patients through large incisions, we use miniaturized surgical instruments that fit through a series of quarter-inch incisions. When performing surgery with the da Vinci Si—the world's most advanced surgical robot—these miniaturized instruments are mounted on three separate robotic arms, allowing the surgeon maximum range of motion and precision. The da Vinci's fourth arm contains a magnified high-definition 3-D camera that guides the surgeon during the procedure...The ultimate effect is to give the surgeon unprecedented control in a minimally invasive environment. As one of our surgeons notes, 'It's as if I've miniaturized my body ...
