I need help with writing a statement of need for a grant proposal. The organization is an organization that provides services to families that are suffering of family violence. The organization provides emergency shelter for individuals that are getting out of a dangerous and unhealthy relationship. The other service is to provide this families with transitional housing which empowers families to become independent. Legal and psychological services are provided as well.
The paper needs to answer the following questions;
Who? Where? When
What? Why?

In worksheet 3.1A, the worksheet asks you to basically fill in the blanks. In the example on worksheet 3.1B, some sample information is provided for you. What I will do is basically take some information (not all from your sample) and apply it to the worksheet and talk to you about my thought-process in doing so. After you start, then you will be able to take the rest of your information and apply it to the worksheet - ultimately crafting a well-thought out statement of need!

Families of whom are experiencing family violence.
WHERE:
Throughout XXX County in the state of XXX.
WHEN:
When families experience unhealthy relationships and violence; leading to members of the family needing to resort to a safe environment.
WHAT IS THE NEED?
In this section, you need to discuss what the exact need is for the families that seek shelter from your organization. However, be sure to state this in a way that shows what they do not already have and then that is going to be what you will provide for them.
Example, in the city of XXX, there are no facilities that provide 24-hour access to domestic violence shelter for all members of a family. There is one shelter that provides access to domestic violence services, but does not allow men or children to reside there.
In reading this, the reader is then thinking about what your organization will offer, as opposed to what is already offered in your area. While this statement may not be true to your scenario (I am just randomizing the information you gave me), it starts explaining what is NOT in your community, offsetting what you WANT to offer - the opposite of what is ...
