Both Zoroastrianism and Judaism made contributions to humanity's shared vision of consciousness as missionary religions (Lewin, 2008). According to Lewin, although they were not viewed as missionary religion, both assisted in the way that human begin to view themselves to be spiritually. Zoroastrianism was a state religion that influenced the worldview of Judaism and other religions including Christianity, Buddhism and Hinduism (Farhat-Holzman . 1997). Farhat-Holzman notes that the Jews encountered Zoroastrian during their 50-year exile in Babylon. The concept of God was transformed from a personal ethnic God to the God of the universe. This understanding of God that was borrowed from the Iranians who adhered to a Mazdayasnian religious tradition-- Zoroastrianism.

The religion of Zoroastrianism was founded by Zoroaster in the seventh century, who held a dualistic concept of the world as a place of unremitting conflicts between goodness, purity, and evil (Neusner, 1984, 436). Followers of this religion ...
