I explain how Psalm 75:6-7 relates to the search of church leaders. What are the qualities of a god chosen leader? Why is it important for a God chosen leader to have a vision from God?
Psalm 75:6-7 lets us know that when Yahweh is in charge, he sets up and sets down, not man. So clearly, if we are involved in his work, then we must operate on this principle. It is not man's organizations that set up and put it, it must be the ruach qodesh [Hebrew for set-apart spirit] itself. Would you really want a pastor or a teacher that got promoted to that position because he looked good or he was wealthy and influential? Wouldn't it be better if the one chosen was chosen because he was the best qualified and had the greatest serving heart and best understanding of Scripture in the group?
The main qualities of a leader chosen to do Yahweh's will are that he exemplify the 9-fold fruit of the spirit as written out in Galatians 5:22-23: "love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, [and] temperance." What more would you need? But if you want other words, he must be a good teacher, able to communicate with the old as well as with the young, he must be a good listener, he must have compassion and humility, and he must always remember that he should never ever do his job for money. In fact, if he can support his ministry through his own labour, all the better. Why is this so important? Because the love of money corrupts. Money can start pulling strings. Money can keep your mouth silent too. It can ...
Godly leaders are depicted.
