Frodo is quite motivated to self-actualize and sees people as basically good like Rogers alleges in this theory. However, the ring's power changes his personality a bit. Because he is initially communal and perceptive of the world, it coincides with Rogers' notions that the reality of our environment depends on our perceptions of it; thus, this character also reflects this theory quite well until the character's transformation.

Because positive regard is also a major concept within this theory, it seems to also manifest with this character as he seeks love and approval from others by volunteering to carry Sauron's One Ring into the fires of Mount Doom.
