magnetic field and force of current carrying wires
Not what you're looking for?
Two straight, parallel wires are carrying current, I1 in wire 1 and I2 in wire 2. The wires are separated by a distance R, and are each of length L.
1) What is the magnetic field B at wire 2 due to the current in wire 1?
2) What is the force on wire 2 due to 1? (assume that I1 and I2 are in opposite directions)
Also, what is the direction of this force?
** answers should be given as algebraic expressions **
