# Newton's Third Law

For every action, there is an equal and opposite re-action.

A force is a push or a pull upon an object that will result from its interaction with another object. Whenever objects A and B interact with each other, they exert forces upon each other. A force is exerted by one object onto another object. When one object exerts a force on a second object, the second object also exerts a force on the first object. The two forces are equal in strength and in opposite directions.

For example, when you sit in our chair, your body exerts a downward force on the chair and the chair exerts an upward force on your body. There are two forces resulting from this interaction. The first force is on the chair and the second is the force on our body. These two forces are called action and reaction forces and they are the subject of Newtonâ€™s third law of motion
