get the first derivative of N

Initial equation - 100 +10B + 20N - B2 - N2 + 0.5 BN ( B2= B to the secondpower and N2 equals N to the second power)

I want to get the first derivative of N so I got this far:

10-2b + .5n =0

.5n=2b -10

N= 4b -20.

I can't figure out how they got the answer for N ? Also, why is the number 10 without the B when the initial equation shows 10B?

Solution Summary

This solution is comprised of a detailed explanation to get the first derivative of N.
